Safety Alert: Purse snatching, 3 offenders working as a team.
Last Thursday (Feb.12th) 3 women had their purses stolen by a 3 female offenders (working as a team) at the Publix Piedmont Pointe in South Huntsville. One young woman approached 2 victims, asked her for the time while another took advantage of the distraction and opened the passenger door and took her purse, a getaway vehicle waited nearby. A 3rd victim had her purse snatched from her shopping cart, while loading her trunk. Watch your surroundings, keep your car doors locked and do not leave your purse unattended. Be extremely cautious if approached by a stranger in a parking lot. Huntsville South has confirmed the above incidents with HPD.
