Alabama State FLL Robotics Championship at GHS Sat. 1/25/14 Free to public!
2014 Alabama State FIRST LEGO League Championship Grissom High School Robotics Team will host the 2014 Alabama State FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and Jr. FLL Championship Saturday, January 25, 2014. Free to the public, this event at Grissom will showcase the efforts of Sixteen Jr. FLL teams (ages 7-9) and 36 FLL teams (grades 4-9) teams that advanced from Qualifiers from around the state. Grissom’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team will share its FRC robot, along with 2 FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams. (FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology.) Jr. FLL Teams researched and created innovative solutions to problems related to natural disasters in this year’s “Disaster Blaster” Challenge. Judges and spectators can visit the team displays and learn about their findings and creative solutions.
Each FLL Team designs and programs a robot that accomplishes “missions” on a competition field in 2.5-minute rounds during the exciting afternoon Matches. These teams also showcase their teamwork and innovative solutions to the research problems related to “Nature’s Fury” challenge, both in their public Pit displays and in closed-session presentations to judges.
